The Power of Prayer is for All Christians, Not Just a Select Few

I was praying with a friend last night and confessed that I was holding on to church hurt. When God sends me to a church, but they reject me, they’re not really rejecting me, they’re rejecting the One who sent me. When God tells me to leave, I’ll bless them or shake the dust off then go to the next place.

As an intercessor, it hurts my heart that there are so many churches that don’t have prayer teams. Pastors will pray for members if they have time, but they don’t encourage members to pray for each other. There’s often no instruction in the importance of intercession, and no opportunity to practice praying with others. Adults aren’t allowed to serve in these roles, much less children, but the vehicle God used to bring healing to my body was a group of children. I share this testimony in my book “You Can Hear the Voice of God Through All Your Spiritual Senses.” But, what if the children hadn’t been allowed to pray that day?

It dishonors God and dishonors the generations of His children when we’re more worried about what others will think rather than trusting God to use His children to do something spectacular in the earth. Discipleship is sorely lacking in many churches and when we fail to recognize each other by the Spirit, but rather choose to trust our own policies, it shows a lack of trust in God. Are we bowing down to men? Are we unintentionally withholding glory from God? Are we praising and following leaders who pray for healing and see results or are we praising God?

Let’s pray. Father God, we thank you that your mercies are new every day. Forgive us for the times when we misrepresented you to others and placed limitations on how and when you could move. Lord, thank you for the gifts of healings; and for those parents who were obedient to send their children to Signs & Wonders Camp. Lord, thank you for using children to bring healing. Grant and connect each child to a spiritual mother or father to encourage and direct them continually back to you. Restore our generations, Lord, for you alone are the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We thank you, Lord, that there is no junior version of the Holy Spirit, but the fullness of your dunamis power lives within every born-again believer regardless of age. It’s in Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
