Spirit World Truths

Updated: May 12

The spirit realm is real. Why, then, do so many Christians tend to avoid that part of Jesus’ commission which tells us, “These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons (Mark 16:17).”

I wrestled with this myself. Why would Jesus instruct us to cast out demons if we’re not meant to? Why does this verse say casting out demons is a sign of those who believe in Him? Why did Jesus say those who believe in Him will do greater works than He (John 14:12)? Had this part of the Bible expired? Why wasn’t I seeing this happen in any of the churches I attended?

Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10), yet we have an enemy vying for our attention. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy our God-designed destiny. He distracts us by attacking our health, wealth, and well-being.

I was unprepared and ill-equipped to fight this invisible battle. The reality of spiritual warfare manifested in my life long before I ever heard anyone speak of such things. I share my testimony of discovering identity, potential, and purpose in Christ within The Awakening Christian Series. Learning to align my thoughts, words, and actions with God’s Word brought healing and restoration to my life, and I believe it will do the same for you.

How can we wage war against an invisible enemy? What’s really at stake? Spiritual warfare is a topic many churches in America fail to address. Still, God Himself teaches us by His Word and Spirit.

Jesus has already won the victory, but it’s our job to appropriate or apply this victory in our own lives. The obstacles we overcome here on earth strengthen us for ruling and reigning eternally as kings and priests in the Kingdom of God (Revelation 5:9-10).

God is Spirit. 1 Timothy 1:17 sums it up nicely:

“Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”

God created us in His image (Genesis 1:27). Although we have physical bodies that house our soul, at our core, we are spirit beings (Psalm 139:13). Depending on our beliefs, our spirits will live for eternity, either in heaven or hell. For those who choose not to believe in God, there will be an eternity of darkness and torment in Satan’s kingdom (Revelation 20:15). The “good news” of Jesus Christ is that He has paid our sin debt in full and restored us to our Father (John 3:15, Romans 5:12, Romans 6:22-23).

Most Christians have heard of the Holy Spirit. Still, I vividly recall the day I was reading my Bible and saw this part of the Godhead referred to as the “Spirit of Holiness.” A few months ago, as I read 1 John 4, “spirit of error” from verse 6 seemed to leap off the page.

We are of God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not of God doesn’t listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. (1 John 4:6 WEB)

At that moment, I wondered what else God had to say about the spirit world. This simple word study evolved into the book you’re holding. Did you know there are spirits of bondage… and adoption? Spirits of falsehood… and Truth? Knowing that we will encounter and battle spirits of impurity, prostitution, perverseness, seduction, and uncleanness reveals the importance of this familiar verse from Ephesians:

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without defect. (Ephesians 5:25-27 WEB)

Are you curious to know what God says about His Holy Spirit, man’s spirit, demonic spirits, and spiritual warfare? Spirit World Truths from God’s Word is an essential guide for all Christians. With over 600 scripture references from World English Bible (WEB), you’ll gain insight and clarity to grow in the gift of discerning of spirits.

It’s time for the Church in America to wake up and grow up. We don’t have to be spiritual babies forever. I was a baby Christian for over 25 years- it’s part of the testimony I shared in The Awakening Christian Series. When we exclude the Holy Spirit from our Church meetings and daily lives, we’ve accepted a powerless form of Christianity that will restrict our spiritual growth. We’re to test every word and take every thought captive. The Bible is our daily Bread. Spending time with God in prayer establishes an eternal relationship of love and trust with our LORD and Father God. These are not chores but privileges!

Praying God’s Word back to Him is a powerful way to break demonic cycles and restore shalom completeness to every aspect of life for all the generations of your bloodline. We’re not victims. We’re overcomers living in the victory of Jesus!

Are you ready for fresh revelation straight from God’s word? Spirit World Truths eBook is available exclusively from Amazon starting May 11, 2022; the paperback version will be available by May 17, 2022.

This fascinating study of God’s Word encouraged me to continue to press in to learn more from Him. I pray it inspires you to do the same. God’s blessings to all!
